Realtors, property managers and building owners should be informed about any possible fire and life safety violations or deficiencies that can affect the safety of occupants residing or working in buildings they own, manage, or are in the process of purchasing.
FLSC will inspect and report on any existing fire code violations or deficiencies, provide compliance options and solutions for mitigation, and protect the client by ensuring a safe investment.
We inspect multiple family residential, commercial, industrial and mixed-use properties to ensure that they meet Local, State, and National Fire & Life Safety Codes.
Project management teams are always under pressure to perform and to secure a partial or final certificate of occupancy. FLSC offers expert plan review, permit expediting, code consultation and preparatory inspection services.
Expert plan and code review for new and existing construction, renovation and change of occupancy.
Every year hundreds of firefighters and civilians are injured or killed as a result of structure fires.
Fire and life safety violations and/or deficiencies are often contributing factors to injuries, deaths, and devastating property losses.
Fire & Life Safety Concepts provides expert witness and litigation support in cases involving life and/or property losses due to the absence or lack of life safety protection features, i.e., fire detection systems, fire alarms, fire sprinkler systems, fire rated construction or separation, and carbon monoxide detection.
We also assist in general liability cases involving injuries and/or loss of life as a result of improper or faulty egress components, i.e., stairs, handrails, guards, exits, illumination, emergency back-up power, and other required life safety features.
Fire related injuries or deaths are often contributed to human behavior, the failure of the building's construction elements and/or the lack of required or non-required life safety features. FLSC provides pre and post fire failure analysis for the purpose of determining existing conditions that may or may not have contributed to the losses sustained as a result of the fire.
Health Care Occupancies present specific fire and life safety concerns and are therefore held to a higher standard of Code compliance. FLSC can evaluate and prepare your facility for inspections that are often required by Local, State, and Federal Inspection and/or Accreditation Agencies. We specialize in the analysis and application of the Life Safety Code, as it applies to new and existing facilities.
Every year college students are injured or killed in fires that occur both on campus and in off-campus housing environments. Most of these fires can be prevented. Parents and students must become informed and consider fire and life safety features when choosing institutions of higher learning. FLSC offers individual and group discussions on topics related to fire and life safety on and off-campus.
Building and Fire Code requirements often create practical and/or financial hardship, especially in cases involving existing occupancies.
A well prepared Code modification package can offer alternative compliance options to ensure that the intent of the Code is satisfied and an acceptable level of fire and life safety is achieved. FLSC will work with your local and State authorities having jurisdiction to expedite and facilitate the compliance process.
